How to do Diwali puja?
Diwali is a very famous and well known festival celebrated in India. On this day the Goddess Laxmi is worshipped as it is believed that she is the goddess of wealth and prosperity. It is also said according to Hindu Mythology that this day Goddess Laxmi comes to everyone’s house where she is worshipped to bless people. The Diwali pujan is done in the evening time after the sun set.
How to perform Diwali puja?
When the puja starts then five Diwali Diyas of ghee are lit. Then some sweets are offered to te goddess and devotional songs are chanted in front of Goddess. When puja is performed then later on lamps and diyas are lit in everybody’s home. The lights have their own significance, people have a firm belief in their hearts that these diyas will clear darkness from their home and lives.In villages farmers worship their cattles because for them cattles are the only source of income. In south also people offer veneration to the cows, because it is believed that the cows are incarnation of the Laxmi-goddess of wealth. Before the Diwali puja is started Lord Ganesha is worshipped as he is known to be Vighnaharta.in this puja goddess laxmi is offerd prayers. She has three forms-mahasaraswati(goddess of learning), mahakali and mahalaxmi,in this puja all the three different forms are worshipped. Lord Kuber(god of treasures) is also worshipped.
Now the question which arises is how to do Diwali puja? So for this the following steps explain the whole procedure.
· Firstly spread a piece of new cloth on some raised platform.
· Then on that cloth, in the centre place some grains. On these grains put a kalash which is filled three fourth with water and in it also place some flowers, coins, nuts and rice grains. Then properly arrange the mango leaves in it.
· Then on the kalash place a very small dish filled with grains of rice. Then on these grains keep the idol of laxmi-goddess of wealth on it.
· Then in just front of it and to its right direction that is in south –west,you must keep the idol of Lord Ganesha. If you have some books of your business then place those also near to the idols
· Then lit an agarbatti and a diya and start with the puja. Then offer kumkun,haldi and flowers to that raised platform on which this kalash is put.
· Then to purify the puja utensils, sprinkle the water.
· Then you are required to form a Panchamitra which is made with curd,milk,ghee,honey and sugar.
· After this begin the Ganesh puja and chant the ganesh aartis and mantras, during the puja offer a beautiful garland of flowers, coconuts and sweets to the diety.
· After Ganesh puja start the Laxmi puja and enchant the Laxmi mantras and offer flowers to the idol.
· Then keep the deity in a clean plate and bathe the deity with the purified water, panchamrita and water having pearls or some gold.
· After this kumkum, haldi and sandal paste is offered to the deity. Then you can offer flowers, garlands, fruits, coconuts to the deity.
· After laxmi pujan worship your business books.write “shubha labh” on every first page of each book.
· Whatever gold articles you have you can wash them with the panchamrit and water.
· Finally at the end sing the universal aarti and aarti of Laxmi.
· After this lit the diyas, lamps and candles in the home.
