How is Diwali puja performed?
The word Diwali brings a feeling of joy and happiness for everyone. In India this festival is celebrated with all zeal and enthusiasm. People from all around the world are attracted towards this festival of India. Decorations, crackers, sweets etc add flavor to this festival. Everyone participate in Diwali puja, whether one is an old person or the youth.
If you are not aware of the religious side of India then this festival can tell you a lot about it. On this day, Lord Ram returned Ayodhya after 14 years of Van vas. Since then this day is celebrated for his return.
On this day every home is decorated with rangoli, lights etc. Even homemade sweets are being prepared for Diwali laxmi puja. Bhajans, Vedic artis, Yagya etc are the integral part of Diwali lakshmi puja. Preparations for the same are done since various days and the day is therefore made special.
As far as the process of diwali puja is concerned, it comprises of the following steps or phases:
· First and foremost the room of puja, where Diwali puja shall be done is cleaned and each and every diety of lord Ganesha and Lord Lakshmi is cleaned. This is done first by water and then rose water or pancha mitra and then again with water.
· Secondly, the diya of Diwali laxmi pooja is placed before the deities. These tiny diyas are being lightened in order to drive away the all the evil spirits that are present near about.
· Thirdly, sweets, fruits and snacks are placed as prashad.
· Flowers are offered before the idols of the god. Other few things that are placed include Sindoor, abir and Haldi shade flowers.
· Then is the ganesha Puja that is must in Diwali laxmi pooja.
· After the ganesha puja, diwali lakshmi puja is completed with all artis and other prayers.
This way the diwali puja is complete.
